All is set for 2021 Teulings grand finale as the Centre calls on media to submit for awards
The preparations for the 2021 Teulings Youth Sports Challenge grand finale at OYDC have reached an advanced stage.
The date for the grand finale is 4 December where outstanding athletes, coaches, umpires, media and teams will be rewarded with trophies and medals.
During Saturday games on 6 November 2021 teams in basketball, boxing, hockey, beach volleyball and teqball were competing in the semi-finals.
OYDC programmes manager Mwange Kampamba, says the grand finale will be hosted under strict adherence to Covid-19 guidelines adding that all the participating teams are prepared for the event.
Meanwhile, Kampamba has urged media personnel who have been supporting the centre with coverage to consider submitting entries for the 2021 OYDC/Teulings media awards.
The 2021 OYDC/Teulings media awards categories are:
a) 2021 Best Teulings Youth Sports Challenge article (Print)
b) 2021 Best Teulings Youth Sports Challenge article (Broadcast)
c) 2021 Best OYDC Business article (Print)
d) 2021 Best OYDC Documentary (Business/Sport)
e) 2021 OYDC CEO’s Appreciation Award
All entries should be submitted electronically to info@oydc.org.zm before 30 November 2021 and must have been published between February to November 2021.
The Teulings/OYDC Youth Sports Challenge has eleven sports disciplines; boxing, teqball, handball, netball, beach volleyball, hockey, taekwondo, judo, football, rugby, and basketball. The youthful competition engaging young talented athletes below the age of 17years has been running at the OYDC since 2011 and is supported by Coen Teulings Chairman of the Merifin Capital in Belgium.
The grand finale is usually graced by the Minister of Sports and is witnessed by representatives of the Teulings Foundation in Belgium.
