ATHLETES ARE ADAPTING TO WEATHER CHANGE IN FRANCE – KALEMBO

Athletics National Team Coach Douglas Kalembo has disclosed that athletes are adapting to weather changes in France as they prepare for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Coach Kalembo says the team had their third training session at the Ile de Vannes Training Centre, adding that he can confirm that his athletes are getting used to the environment.

He adds that despite the weather being a bit cold on Tuesday, it will not affect their next training session.

Athlete Kennedy Luchembe who participated in the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 2018 and minted a silver medal in the 400m race says his team is ready for the 4x400m relay at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

He disclosed that having participated in the Youth Olympic Games gives him the confidence to coordinate well with his fellow team players when they step on the track.

He indicated that the mood is ecstatic and the nation should rally behind them.

In athletics, Zambia has the 4x400m relay team comprising Patrick Nyambe, Muzala Samukonga, David Mulenga and Kennedy Luchembe while sensational sprinter Muzala Samukonga will have an individual race in the 400m event.

The Paris 2024 Olympic Games will ignite with the official opening ceremony on 26 July.

Zambia is being represented by five sports disciplines; Athletics, Boxing, Football, Judo, and Swimming.
