The OYDC this morning hosted president H.E President Edgar C. Lungu, who came to launch the 2019 Health Week organised by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Child Development. The president was received by cabinet ministers, permanent secretaries, state house officials and other senior government officials. Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA) Secretary General Eng. Ahmed Abou Elgasim Hashim, is in the country and today toured the OYDC facilities. Eng. Young swimmers on Saturday were at the OYDC to participate in the 2019 Teulings Swim Challenge which attracted over 60 swimmers from three clubs namely Lusaka Sharks, Kalene and Chudleigh. The 2019 Teulings Swim Challenge set for Saturday, 4 May at the OYDC has attracted over 100 swimmers selected from four local teams. The young swimmers will be competing in the 25m Freestyle, 25m Back Stroke, 100m Breast Stroke, 50m Breast Stroke, 50m Butterfly and the 4x50m freestyle relay. Over 200 young hockey players on Saturday thronged the OYDC to participate in the Teulings Youth Sports Challenge. The 2019 Teulings Youth Sports Challenge kicked off on Saturday 30th March, with over 600 athletes taking part in the league games.
