Young talented athletes from the OYDC Zambia clubs won four medals at the National Youth Games Zambia 2024 which were staged in Ndola, Copperbelt from 4 to 6 December 2024. The athletes are from boxing and judo and at the OYDC Zambia they compete in the Teulings Youth Sports Challenge a developmental league supported Coen Teulings Chairman of Merifin Capital in Belgium. OYDC BOXER FLOGS OPPONENT WITH ASTONISHING SIZZLING PUNCHES Stanley Mulenga a boxer from the OYDC Zambia academy shocked his opponent Lameck Zimba from Green Buffaloes after flogging him on a split decision 3-2 at the ongoing National Youth Games in Ndola, Copperbelt. TEULINGS GAMES GET ANOTHER EXTENDED FUNDING Hans Bertels representative of Coen Teulings and Chairman of Merifin Capital in Belgium has announced the extension of funding to the Teulings Youth Sports Challenge for 2025. Hans Bertels, representative of Coen Teulings Chairman of Merifin Capital in Belgium has arrived in Zambia ahead of the 13th edition of the Teulings Youth Sports Challenge grand finale. The OYDC Zambia will host this year’s Teulings Youth Sports Challenge grand finale on 23 November 2024 where deserving players will be rewarded. Athletes, coaches, media, umpires, associations and sports administrators are some of the people who will walk away with trophies and medals. Five female judokas at the weekend won medals during the 2024 National Judo Women’s Cup organized by the Judo Association of Zambia. The judokas Barbara Seulu, Mirriam Seulu, Naomi Seulu, and Naomi Sinazeze won gold, silver and bronze respectively. Two Gold, Two Silver and One Bronze medals were minted for the OYDC Judo Club. The club emerged with eight points.
OYDC Zambia on Friday 20 September 2024 invited several stakeholders for a meeting to update them on the progress the centre continues to make where sport development is concerned.
