188 trees to be planted at OYDC Zambia

In a quest to preserve the environment, about 188 trees will on Saturday 22nd February be planted at the OYDC Zambia – Sports Development Centre, as a way of promoting conservation and environmental protection using sport. Sydney Siame shares his sports career with aspiring Olympians

Zambia’s finest sprinter Sydney Siame, who is the 2019 200m All Africa Games Champion and 2014 Youth Olympic Game,  gold medalist on Saturday, 15 February, 2020 joined the over 500 young athletes who had thronged the OYDC Zambia – Sports Development Centre to listen to his motivation talk. 2020 Teulings Youth Sports Challenge kicks off

The OYDC Zambia – Sports Development Centre commenced the Teulings Youth Sports Challenge for the year 2020 on Saturday, 15 February with athletes competing in beach volleyball, taekwondo, netball and hockey. Boxers in camp ahead of Olympic Qualifiers Games

Three boxers entered residential camping on 21st January, 2020 at the OYDC Zambia – Sports Development Centre in preparation for the Olympic Qualifiers Games to be staged in Senegal. The boxers are Patrick Chinyemba, Evaristo Mulenga and Steven Zimba and are under the tutorship of National Team Coach, Wisdom Mudenda. The trio are expected to leave camp on the 16th February, 2020. NOCZ President Foloko urges associations owing OYDC Zambia to clear debt

National Olympic Committee of Zambia (NOCZ) President Alfred Foloko, on Wednesday 22 January, 2020 implored sports associations in the country owing the OYDC Zambia – Sports Development Centre to clear all the debt. Speaking during the stakeholders meeting organized by the OYDC Zambia, Foloko said the sports facility needed money to continue running and offering services to all associations hence the need to clear debts owed. Support OYDC Zambia, Lusaka Deputy Mayor urges stakeholders

Lusaka Deputy Mayor Christopher Shakafuswa, on Friday 17, January, 2020 appealed to the corporate to make use of the OYDC Zambia – Sports Development Centre by hiring the facility for sport and social events. OYDC Zambia launches “Play 2 Conserve” Project

OYDC Zambia has launched the “Play 2 Conserve’ Project in partnership with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) aimed at promoting conservation and environmental protection using sport. The launch was done during a one day project training workshop which attracted 35 participants conducted by facilitators from WWF, OYDC Zambia and the Wildlife Environmental Conservation Society of Zambia (WECSZ). Former Zambian boxer, Esther Phiri, has urged athletes and pupils who thronged the OYDC Zambia – Sports Development Centre to refrain from vices that could lead them to contract HIV/AIDS.
