Youth, Sport Child Development Minister Moses Mawere, has urged athletes traveling to Gaborone, Botswana for the AUSC Region 5 games to be focused and concentrate on winning and bringing medals to Zambia. Badminton – 2018 Zambia International Tournament impress president

Zambia Badminton President Kay Kamatuwa Chirwa, has applauded all the athletes who took part in the just ended Badminton tournament at the Olympic Youth Development Centre (OYDC) from 29th November to 2nd December, 2018. Team Zambia arrives back home on Monday

Team Zambia will arrive back home on Monday 22, October, 2018 after participating at the just ended 2018 Summer Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The team will come back home with three medals (1) bronze in equestrian through Bunty Howard and (2) in athletics minted by Kennedy Luchembe (silver) and Nidy Minglishi (bronze). BRONZE MEDALIST BUNTY HOWARD EMERGES TOP IN AFRICA

2018 Summer Youth Olympic Games bronze medalist in the jump team event Bunty Howard, has emerged top in Africa despite her not qualifying to the finals. Howard, came out 11th after taking part in the individual jumps which clearly show that she is 1st in Africa. She thanks everyone back home in Zambia who supported her during the competition.

U18 hockey team qualifies to semi-finals

U18 Zambia male hockey team has qualified to the semi-finals of the 2018 Youth Olympic Games being staged in Argentina, after beating the 2014 defending champions Australia 6-4. The team is scheduled to meet Malaysia on 13 October at 20:00 hours Zambian time. Team Coach Samuel Tagwireyi, is hopeful that the team will deliver according to his expectation tomorrow if they are to bring glory to Zambia by minting Gold.

Zambia’s 400m Gold medalist Kennedy Luchembe hits the track today at 16:15 hours Zambian time. Luchembe, served as the country’s flag bearer during the official opening ceremony of the 2018 Summer Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Zambia records first medal

Bunty Howard (Equestrian), gets bronze medal in the jump international team event in the second round of the competition finishing the jumps with a time of 78.90 to help team Africa come out 3rd at the ongoing 2018 Summer Youth Olympic Games being staged in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Countries that made up her team include; Mauritius, Egypt, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Zambia. Zambia hockey team beats Poland 4-3

The Zambia Hockey Team arrived at the Olympic Park hockey pitch to take on Poland in high spirit and prayed for a win. The U18 lads who have been training at the OYDC thrashed the Polish lads 4-3. The team was in a state of jubilation as the game came to an end. Team Coach samuel tagwireyi, expressed happiness that the boys beat Poland by scoring four goals. Zambia will face Malaysia Tuesday afternoon at 16;15 Zambian time.
