Zambia National Men’s Hockey Team Coach Thomas Mumba, has expressed confidence in the Zambian hockey team ahead of the 2017 African Cup of Club Nations to be held on October 22nd to 29th. Lusaka Sharks swimmers to compete in ZASU swimming gala

Lusaka Sharks swimmers Lusaka Sharks swimmers who train from the Olympic Youth Development Centre (OYDC) will this weekend compete in the Zambia Swimming Union (ZASU) 2017 swimming gala to be staged at the OYDC. Team coach Charles Banda, has disclosed that (12) swimmers from his club will compete in different swimming events. OYDC appeals for more support

Olympic Youth Development Centre (OYDC) Director Clement Chileshe, has disclosed that the Centre has continued to contribute massively to the development of sport in the country despite various challenges the institution is facing. Addressing the media on Wednesday 4th October, 2017 Chileshe, said the Centre needs to raise a total of K10 million annually in order to maintain the wonderful facilities and its life changing programmes. Cieran James, bids farewell to OYDC football athletes

Cieran James, a volunteer with the Wallace Group has bid fare well to football players who train from the Olympic Youth Development Centre.   James, who’s from Loughborough University, has been in Zambia for six weeks and during he’s stay he coached football in different parts of the country, which include Fountain of Hope, Mtendere Township, Kalingalinga, Chipata Township and OYDC.

ZHA holds fundraising hockey tourney

The Zambia Hockey Association (ZHA) is holding a fundraising hockey tournament at the Olympic Youth Development Centre (OYDC) ahead of the 2017 Africa Cup for Club Nation to be held in Egypt. The fundraising tournament at the OYDC started on 28th September 2017 and is scheduled to finish on Sunday 1st October 2017. Dreams Members Celebrate Graduation in Style

Latkings, on Monday 25th September held its 2017 DREAMS (Determined, Resilient, Empowered, AIDS-free, Mentored, Safe) project graduation at the Olympic Youth Development Centre. The project was aimed at reducing HIV/AIDS infections among adolescent girls between the age of 18 and 24 years. Special Olympics Leadership academy

Special Olympics will on Tuesday the 12 September, 2017 unveil the First Lady of the Republic of Zambia, Esther Lungu, as the “50th Anniversary Ambassador” for the African Region.
