Coach urges girls to take up netball

A netball coach Bessie Nanyangwe, has urged young girls from communities surrounding OYDC Zambia to take up the sport of netball. Nanyangwe, who is an assistant coach for Matero Netball team, which is part of the Teulings Youth Sports Challenge, disclosed that most of the girls in her team have chances of being selected to play for the national team. OYDC ZAMBIA CLEARED TO RESUME ALL SPORTS ACTIVITIES

The OYDC Zambia – Sports Development Centre wish to announce that it has been cleared to resume all sports activities which were suspended indefinitely on the 17th March, 2020 following the outbreak of the Corona Virus. OYDC Zambia donates 300 face masks

OYDC Zambia on Wednesday, 6th May, 2020, donated three hundred face masks to different sports associations and staff valued at K5000. The sport associations which received the donation are Tennis (40 masks), Taekwondo (40 masks), Volleyball (30 masks), Table Tennis (40 masks), Disability Sport Federation Zambia (35 face masks) and the rest given to staff and members of the press who were present. NOCZ President Alfred Foloko pays tribute to fallen heroes

National Olympic Committee of Zambia (NOCZ) president Alfred Foloko, has paid tribute to the fallen heroes who perished in 1993 plane crash in the Atlantic Ocean shortly after taking off from Libreville, Gabon. Speaking after laying wreaths at the memorial site outside the Independence Stadium in Lusaka Foloko, said the Olympic movement acknowledges the part the fallen heroes played in the development of sport in the country stating that those in sport should consider emulating the heroes and avoid wrangles. OYDC ZAMBIA IN TALKS WITH MOTHER BODIES TO RESUME SOME SPORTS ACTIVITIES

The OYDC Zambia – Sports Development Centre will consult the Ministries of Health and Youth, Sport and Child Development, National Sports Council of Zambia, and the National Olympic Committee of Zambia on steps to take to resume some sports activities which do not involve physical contact. Zambia Judo Association donates face masks to Shalom School
