MERIFIN CAPITAL SIGNS US$ 200, 000 SPONSORSHIP DEAL WITH OYDC

The Merifin Capital in Belgium has signed a US$ 200, 000 sponsorship extension deal with the OYDC to fund the “Teulings Youth Sports Challenge” for the next two years which will resume on the 23rd February, 2019. The Teulings Youth Sports Challenge was initiated in 2011 with competition in Basketball, Football, Tennis, Hockey, Volleyball and support academy sport. Simon Zulu crowned 2018 best judoka of the year Zambia

Gold medalist judoka, Simon Zulu, who trains from the OYDC was on Friday 18th January, 2019 crowned as the “2018 Best Judoka of the Year” during the Zambia Police Service Annual Sports Awards. Zulu, who is a Podium Performance Programme (PPP) athlete thanked his coach Francis Limipile, Zambia Judo, for having supported him during the year 2018. MUZA football team happy with OYDC pitch

The football team from Mazabuka, Southern Province came to the OYDC on Tuesday for training. Mestro United Zambia (MUZA) Football Team manager disclosed that his players were amused with the facility environment. He added that such facilities like the OYDC must be well supported and maintenance so that athletes from different sports disciplines can continue to identify their talents in sport.

MORE MEDALS FOR TEAM ZAMBIA AT AUSC REGION 5 GAMES

Zambian athletes Kennedy Luchembe (athletics), Daniel Mbewe (athletics), and Niddy Minglishi (athletics) have minted medals in the 400m final men and women race respectively at the ongoing Africa Union Sports Council (AUSC) Region 5 taking place in Gaborone, Botswana. In the men’s race Luchembe, minted Gold after clocking 45.76 while Mbewe, clocked 46.09 to mint Silver. Sports Minister Mawere, urges athletes to mint medals at AUSC Region 5

Teulings Champions crowned with trophies and medals

Over 300 young athletes who have been part of the Teulings Youth Sports Challenge were on Saturday 27th October, 2018 crowned with trophies and medals during the 8th edition of the Teulings Youth Sports Challenge Grand Finale. Team Zambia arrives back home on Monday

Team Zambia will arrive back home on Monday 22, October, 2018 after participating at the just ended 2018 Summer Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The team will come back home with three medals (1) bronze in equestrian through Bunty Howard and (2) in athletics minted by Kennedy Luchembe (silver) and Nidy Minglishi (bronze). BRONZE MEDALIST BUNTY HOWARD EMERGES TOP IN AFRICA

2018 Summer Youth Olympic Games bronze medalist in the jump team event Bunty Howard, has emerged top in Africa despite her not qualifying to the finals. Howard, came out 11th after taking part in the individual jumps which clearly show that she is 1st in Africa. She thanks everyone back home in Zambia who supported her during the competition.
