2022 OYDC Sporting Season Launched

Young talented athletes were on 5th March in a state of jubilation as the OYDC Zambia – Sports Development Centre launched the 2022 sporting season. Over 280 athletes from basketball, hockey and beach volleyball turned up to witness the launch which was graced by National Olympic Committee of Zambia (NOCZ) president Alfred Foloko. OYDC to host Antony Mwamba memorial tournament

OYDC Zambia – Sports Development Centre will on Saturday 5th March host the Antony Mwamba memorial boxing tournament. The tournament has been organized by Exodus Boxing Promotions and Midlands Boxing Association. Exodus Boxing Promotions Director Christian Kalima says all is set and weighing of boxers will begin at 9:00hrs. Kalima has since called on all clubs and boxers to turn up in numbers and be part of the tournament.

Handball Association of Zambia unveils jersey for women’s team as they prepare for Guinea Games

NATSAVE WINS INAUGURAL 2021 OYDC INTER COMPANY TOURNEY

It was a glamorous moment as eight teams turned up to compete for the 2021 OYDC Inter-Company Football and Netball tournament. The bankers NATSAVE bank reigned supreme by beating their competitor INVESTRUST bank 7-6 in a crucial match which ended in penalties. NATSAVE netball team also scooped the first position by beating INVESTRUST Bank. The teams walked away with trophies and assorted sports jerseys. The preparations for the 2021 Teulings Youth Sports Challenge grand finale at OYDC have reached an advanced stage. The date for the grand finale is 4 December where outstanding athletes, coaches, umpires, media and teams will be rewarded with trophies and medals. During Saturday games on 6 November 2021 teams in basketball, boxing, hockey, beach volleyball and teqball were competing in the semi-finals. National netball team set to travel to Namibia

Netball Zambia President Martha Sichone has paid gratitude to the OYDC Zambia management for accommodating netballers who are set to travel to Namibia for two competitions. The team is expected to leave for Namibia on Wednesday, 27 October 2021.
