Three hockey teams dominate Teulings league games

Three hockey teams have dominated the Teulings Hockey league games in three age categories respectively. The teams are; Boys U12 Hotspurs, U14 Boys Springfields and U14 Girls Zambezi. Hotspurs currently has 12 points and Springfields has 9 points while Zambezi has 10 points. The games took place at the OYDC on Saturday, 20 July, 2019 with 10 teams which include Sharks, D.E Stars, Hotspurs, Springfields, and Tigers coming to compete. Feel at home, ZJA President Foloko urges foreign judokas

Zambia Judo Association president Alfred Foloko, who is also National Olympic Committee of Zambia (NOCZ) president on Saturday 20 July, 2019 joined judokas from Malawi and Maheba Judo Refugee camp who were training at OYDC ahead of a competition on Sunday. Teulings Youth Sports Challenge takes center stage

OYDC continues to play host of the Teulings Youth Sports Challenge which on Saturday 13 July, 2019 hosted netball, taekwondo and beach volleyball. Teulings Beach volleyball on this weekend

Over Twelve athletes will on Saturday 13th July, 2019 take part in the Teulings Beach Volleyball league games. The athletes are from Makeni, Munali, Garden, Chazanga and Chawama will battle it out in style as they look forward to the grand finale which will be hosted later this year. And OYDC Programmes Officer Mellisa Majonga, has urged people from communities surrounding the OYDC to come and watch the boys and girls compete stating that the league games will start at 09:00 and finish at 12:00 hours. Over 300 Teulings athletes undergo health screening

Over 300 athletes who on Saturday 29 July, 2019 came to participate in the Teulings Youth Sports Challenge were screened by health personnel. The athletes underwent ear, nose and throat screening before games commenced.  OYDC CEO, Dr. Fredrick Chitangala, disclosed that the screening was also extended to other athletes who had come to access the facility stating that the centre engages different health specialists to ensure that athletes are in good health as they prepare to compete in various games. The OYDC, continues to win kudos from different sports associations both local and international for its continued contribution to the development of sport in the country. Springfield Hockey Player Cynthia Jere, is happy that her team today won two games during the Teulings Youth Sports Challenge held at OYDC. Zambia beats Zimbabwe 30-16 as handball tournament kicks off

Zambia is currently hosting the IHF Trophy Zone VI Games which started today and will come to a close on the 16th June, 2019. The games involve the U20 and U17 Handball Female teams and have been selected from ten African countries.Some of the countries that are participating include; Madagascar, Seychelles, Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa, Lesotho, Zimbabwe Botswana, and Zambia. Teulings Beach Volleyball attracts more youths

Teulings Beach Volleyball Coordinator Isaac Tembo, has disclosed that the sport at OYDC is receiving positive response from the time it was introduced. Tembo, notes with happiness that a number of players who started from the Teulings league games have now graduated to join the national team and have participated in a number of local and international competition. He added that on Saturday the Teulings Beach Volleyball games saw six teams participating in the games.

Government challenges coaches to qualify athletes to Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games
