DR FREDRICK CHITANGALA LEAVES OYDC ZAMBIA
OYDC Zambia Chief Executive Officer Dr Fredrick Chitangala has left the multisports facility as his tour of duty has come to an end.
National Olympic Committee of Zambia (NOCZ) president Alfred Foloko has since announced OYDC Zambia Finance Manager Benjamin Tembo as the acting Chief Executive Officer till when the new CEO will be appointed.
Foloko has since thanked Dr Chitangala for the time he has served at the OYDC Zambia and wished him well in his future endeavours.
And in an emotional farewell party held Thursday 28 March, 2024 Dr Chitangala appealed to OYDC Zambia staff to support the acting Chief Executive Officer in this transition period.
He said the Centre continues to be a haven for talent identification and development of athletes.
Dr Chitangala joined the OYDC Zambia in 2018.His farewell party was attended by National Olympic Committee of Zambia (NOCZ) Secretary General Boniface Kambikambi, OYDC Zambia Board Chairperson Simangolwa Shakalima, OYDC Zambia HR & Finance Commission Chairperson Doreen Namusenga, OYDC Zambia staff among others.
Meanwhile, OYDC Zambia Board Chairperson Simangolwa Shakalima has disclosed that management at OYDC Zambia will continue to work with its stakeholders to ensure that facilities are available for all.
He says the Centre remains committed to continuing to receive new partners and seeing that more athletes are nurtured and well-prepared for major competitions in collaboration with sports associations.
