GYA BAGS MORE FOOTBALL POINTS AHEAD OF TEULINGS GRAND FINALE

Garden Youth Academy is closing up to being crowned the 2022 Teulings Youth Sports Challenge winners ahead of the grand finale in November.

The team for boys currently has 25 points leading the log standing while the girls are on top as well with 22 points.

In the boys’ category, Chipata is second with 22 points while for the girls Chipata has 19 points.

The two teams both for girls and boys have been the strongest contenders in the 2022 U19 Teulings football league.

Other teams which have been taking part in the league include OYDC, Olympiafrica, Mukwa, and KK Rising, among others.

One of the football coaches Samuel Moloka reiterates that this year’s Teulings football league has been very competitive. Moloko who coaches team OYDC says he is still hopeful that his team will emerge winners despite having fewer points.

He added that Saturday’s games made the team do their homework so that in the next games they can surpass other teams by either reigning supreme or emerging runners-up of the league.

Several athletes in football and basketball were at the OYDC to take part in the Teulings Youth Sports Challenge.

The Teulings Youth Sports Challenge grand finale for the year 2022 will be held on 26 November where top deserving young sports boys and girls will be rewarded with trophies and medals.

The Teulings Youth Sports Challenge is a youthful competition in Zambia which has been running at the OYDC Zambia since 2011. Since its inception, the competition has seen numerous athletes being selected to various national teams and clubs and subsequently taking part in youth Olympic, All Africa, Region 5 and Commonwealth Games. The league which is a household name is sponsored by Coen Teulings Chairman of the Merifin Capital in Belgium.
