INVESTRUST BANK PLC DONATES K50, 000 TO OYDC ZAMBIA

OYDC Zambia has received a donation of K50, 000 from Investrust Bank PLC to help promote women in sports.

Investrust Bank PLC Wednesday, 25 January 2023 donated K500, 000 to the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Arts to distribute to selected sports associations and organisations of which OYDC Zambia has received a cheque of K50, 000. The cheque donated to the OYDC Zambia was received by the Chief Executive Officer Dr Fredrick Chitangala.

Investrust Bank PLC Managing Director Simangolwa Shakalima expressed hope that the donated money will go towards hosting some of the major games in the country adding that this gesture is a way of showing support to the promotion of women in sports in the country who have in the past performed well at various events.

Minister of Youth, Sport and Arts Elvis Nkandu MP says the donation is the biggest the ministry is receiving in 2023. He added that the donation is good for the country as it shows support for the development of sport and for those who use it as a career.

He further called on other corporate entities to emulate Investrust Bank PLC for the gesture it has rendered.

The donation ceremony held in Lusaka was attended by several presidents and general secretaries of various sports associations and ministry officials.

Recipients of the donation were in two categories; Zambia Volleyball Association, Zambia Basketball Federation, and Netball Zambia received K100, 000 respectively while Judo Association of Zambia, Zambia Tennis Association, Handball Association of Zambia and OYDC Zambia received K50, 000 each.
