“KEEP WORKING HARD ONE DAY YOU WILL BE STARS” OYDC ZAMBIA ACTING CEO TEMBO URGES ATHLETES

Many young athletes who come to train and compete in the Teulings Youth Sports Challenge at the OYDC Zambia have continued to aspire to become top athletes in future.

The Centre which every week receives hundreds of children taking part in several activities has always been a haven for talent identification and development.

Saturday 29 June 2024 OYDC Zambia Acting Chief Executive Officer Benjamin Tembo encouraged athletes who came to compete in Baseball5, Football and Teqball to continue with their dedication to training and participating in several sports events which will help them improve their skills and stand a chance of being selected by sports associations to join the national teams.

Tembo who toured the games the OYDC Zambia had organised under the Teulings Youth Sports Challenge says there is so much talent in most of the players whose clubs are enjoying the league games. He indicated that sport if well utilised helps many children in society achieve their sporting dreams.

Over 300 athletes were at the OYDC Zambia to participate in the Teulings Youth Sports Challenge sponsored by Coen Teulings Chairman of Merifin Capital in Belgium.

The league games which have several sports codes have been running at the OYDC Zambia since 2011 and many athletes who have benefited from it have gone as far as getting selected to national teams and subsequently represented Zambia at various competitions among them; Commonwealth, AUSC Region 5, Olympic, and Africa Games.
