NO ATHLETE IS ALLOWED TO TRAIN FROM THE OYDC TRACK & FIELD

MEDIA RELEASE
NO ATHLETE IS ALLOWED TO TRAIN FROM THE OYDC TRACK & FIELD
OYDC Zambia – Sports Development Centre wishes to make it known to the public and its associates that the “track & field” facility which reached its lifespan in 2015 has been “out of order” since then and anyone who sneaks in to use it would be doing this at their own risk.
All “athletics” training and competition activities are currently conducted at the National Heroes Stadium through the Zambia Athletics Association and to the best of our knowledge, ZA does not have any ongoing training programs at OYDC.
OYDC in 2021 announced that it is set to have some of its “worn out” facilities facelifted. This exercise will be done through the National Olympic Committee of Zambia (NOCZ) which was selected among other NOCs in the region to benefit from a sponsorship agreement signed between the Association of National Olympic Committees in Africa (ANOCA) and Gerflor a leading renowned flooring company in the world.
OYDC management wishes to discourage athletes from sneaking into facilities such as jumping the wall fence to come and train without seeking permission which may result in them getting injured in the process. Everyone is encouraged to book for the facility they would wish to use and they would be advised appropriately.
