NOCZ Athletes Commission Chairperson Mulenga commends OYDC’s youth activities
National Olympic Committee of Zambia (NOCZ) Athletes Commission Chairperson Richard Mulenga has commended OYDC Zambia management for their passion to continue organising youth league games.
Mulenga says OYDC has helped a number of players in the country and its initiative to host several youth league games such as the Teulings/OYDC Youth Sports Challenge should be supported by not only government but local federations and the corporate world.
Mulenga, a handball national team goal keeper, with many accolades attached to his prominent name says witnessing some of the games OYDC organised on Saturday 23 April 2022 where athletes in boxing, rugby and taekwondo were competing showed how much youths from surrounding areas have continue to devote their time to sport.
He says OYDC, having been awarded the 2018 African Union Sports Council (AUSC) Region 5 medal of honour tells that it’s one of the biggest sports facility in the country whose mission is to not only promote sport at grassroots level but produce talented players who have in turn brought honour and glory to mother Zambia during competitive games such as the Olympic Games and the All Africa Games.
Over 200 athletes thronged the OYDC Zambia for their weekly youth league games. The games were witnessed by some executive members from Zambia Boxing Federation, Rugby and Taekwondo Federation of Zambia president Likando Nagode.
