NOCZ President Foloko assures OYDC staff and Coaches
National Olympic Committee of Zambia (NOCZ) President Alfred Foloko, on Friday 26th October, 2018 met with Olympic Youth Development Centre (OYDC) staff and coaches and assured them of NOCZ’s support as the OYDC Board of trustees and management works on implementing the 2018-2022 OYDC Strategic Plan which was recently launched.
Mr. Foloko, who was accompanied by the OYDC Board Chairperson Mr. Simangolwa Shakalima and the NOCZ Secretary General Mr. Boniface Kambikambi, disclosed that the board appreciates staff and coaches commitments towards work by ensuring that the Centre continues to nurture and develop athletes who have continued to represent Zambia at competitive games such as the Youth Olympic Games.
He applauded members of staff for their dedication and passion for work as the centre is gradually becoming a self-sustaining institution and see to it that more athletes are sent to participate in a number of games at regional and international competitions.
Mr. Foloko and his entourage was welcomed by Centre Director Dr. Fredrick Chitangala.
Others who were present to interact with staff include; International Olympic Committee (IOC) Head of Sport for Hope Barbara Schweizer, and Coen Teulings representative Hans Bertels who were at the Olympic Youth Development Centre (OYDC) to witness the crowning of champions for the 8th edition of the Teulings Youth Sports Challenge “Grand Finale” held on the 27th October, 2018 at the OYDC.
