National Olympic Committee of Zambia (NOCZ) president Alfred Foloko has told Zambia’s High Commissioner to Nairobi, Kenya H.E Joyce Kasosa that the Olympic movement in Zambia is ready to work with the new dawn government to promote the sport on an international level.

FOLOKO who was accompanied by OYDC Zambia Chief Executive Officer Dr Fredrick Chitangala on Tuesday morning disclosed that the Olympic movement is happy with the pace of the new dawn government under the leadership of President Hakainde Hichilema has taken to support sports, especially those which many had considered as minor. He indicated that athletes, coaches and sports administrators have been inspired by the new dawn government which has drastically proven to change their performances at various competitions.

He added that the Olympic movement and the entire sports fraternity in the country remain resolute to ensure that athletes mint medals at major competitions such as the Olympics and the commonwealth games.

And OYDC Zambia Chief Executive Officer Dr Fredrick Chitangala highlighted to the high commissioner how athletes have been camped and trained at the sports facility back home. He added that while in Kenya, he will acquire knowledge on how to maintain sports facilities knowing that Kenya is a sporting country with well-maintained facilities which can be used back home.

And Zambia’s High Commissioner to Kenya H.E Joyce Kasosa noted with happiness that the judo championship which will take place in Nairobi, Kenya with the representation of Zambian Judokas has been fully supported by the Zambian government. She wished the team the best of luck and extended best wishes to all those who will be competing at the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games.
