OYDC ZAMBIA ANNOUNCES SECOND EDITION OF MEDIA AWARDS
The OYDC Zambia – Sports Development wishes to announce that entries for the second edition of “OYDC Media Awards” are now open. The awards are scheduled to take place in December, 2020 during the Teulings Youth Sports Challenge grand finale.

In 2019, OYDC Zambia launched the first ever media awards during which outstanding journalists and media houses were honored for their immense contribution to the sports facility.

OYDC Zambia Chief Executive Officer Dr. Fredrick Chitangala, says this year’s media awards will be bigger and better than the inaugural awards and he has urged journalists in the country to consider making submission of their published articles on OYDC for consideration.

“The media continues to play an integral part in the development of sport in the country especially at OYDC where we nurture young talented athletes. It is our duty as OYDC to show support and just appreciate the media who are our all-weather friends hence us coming up with media awards. We hope that this year we will have more entries as we look forward to award all those who will be shortlisted”. Dr. Chitangala said.

The categories for the awards for 2020 are;1. Best Teulings Youth Sports Challenge article (print)2. Best OYDC Business article (print)3. Best OYDC Documentary Business (Broadcast)4. Best Teulings Youth Sport Challenge Documentary (Broadcast)5. OYDC CEO’S appreciation Award
Entries into the awards are officially open and will come to a close on the 30th November, 2020. All entries will be scrutinized by qualified media experts and those who will be shortlisted will be awarded accordingly.

Entry Criteria

1. Journalists must submit their newspaper screenshots, links and recordings of published OYDC articles/documentaries

2. All submissions should have been published in from January to November, 2020

3. Must belong to a media house and be recommended by news editors for entry

4. Must indicate category of interest

5. Journalists are allowed to submit only two articles (published)

6. Journalists must be ready to attend the awards gala and make announcements prior to their attendance

7. All entries should be submitted electronically to info@oydc.org.zm
