OYDC Zambia, mentors over 100 coaches and young leaders
Over 100 coaches and young leaders representing different sports organizations and teams on Saturday, 30th November, 2019 took part in the Teulings Youth Sports Challenge mentorship workshop supported by Coen Teulings, Chairman of the Merifin Capital in Belgium.
OYDC Zambia – Sports Development Centre Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Fredrick Chitangala, who officially opened the workshop said the mentorship workshop was aimed at bridging the gap between coaches and athletes. Dr. Chitangala, highlighted that the workshop would focus on issues that athletes face on a daily basis and how best coaches can create a safer environment for them.
The workshop was facilitated by different sports administrators and sports scientists and looked at topics like; finding a balance between Sport, Career and Lifestyle, Safe Sport: Safeguarding the operating environment for the athlete and coach, fundamentals of Athlete Preparation Leading to Performance.
Organizations like NOWSPAR, Edusport, Olympafrica, Zambia Boxing Federation, Sport in Action, Zambia Rugby Union, Zambia Judo Association had a representative.
