OYDC Zambia sports season enters week two
OYDC Zambia – Sports Development Centre sporting season for the year 2022 entered the second week on 19 March after the season was launched few weeks ago.
Two sports disciplines Teqball and Handball were played and attracted a total number of 150 athletes.
The teams for both sports codes were drawn from community clubs, and schools.
OYDC programmes manager Mwange Kampamba disclosed that the league games are going on well adding that the eleven sports disciplines have been maintained for the year 2022.
She further said OYDC will consider adding more sports disciplines to the league dubbed Teulings/OYDC Youth Sports Challenge should funds permit or more sponsors come to support the Centre.
Kampamba indicted that the feedback the centre is receiving following the launch of the 2022 sporting season is good hence the need for the corporate world to take this opportunity to partner with OYDC.
“Our aim is to continue running these youthful activities and make the centre colourful. We have maintained the eleven sports disciplines which include; boxing, hockey, rugby, taekwondo, judo just to mention but a few. As you can see the response from all the teams is good and we look forward to adding more sports disciplines as we call on the corporate world to come and support us through these games which produce talented athletes who eventually represent Zambia at major games” Kampamba said.
OYDC is best known to be managing the biggest youthful games in the country and has seen a number of athletes getting shortlisted to play for the senior and junior national teams.
