OYDC Zambia suspends all sport & non sport activities indefinitely

OYDC Zambia – Sports Development Centre Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Fredrick Chitangala, has announced the indefinite suspension of all sport and non-sport activities at the multisport facility with immediate effect.

Dr. Chitangala, says the move follows today’s address by the minister of Health Dr. Chitalu Chilufya, where he updated the nation on measures being taken by government to avoid any possible outbreak of Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) which has become an international public health concern.

He says OYDC Zambia, will adhere to the restriction of mass gatherings which might pose a danger to any possible infection in an event that there is an outbreak of the virus in the country.

“I wish to announce the indefinite suspension of all sport and non-activities at the OYDC Zambia with immediate effect. OYDC Zambia values the health of every citizen, and it is our hope that measures being taken by government to avoid any possible outbreak of the COVID-19 will be adhered to by all well meaning Zambians” he said.
