Team Zambia arrives back home on Monday
Team Zambia will arrive back home on Monday 22, October, 2018 after participating at the just ended 2018 Summer Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The team will come back home with three medals (1) bronze in equestrian through Bunty Howard and (2) in athletics minted by Kennedy Luchembe (silver) and Nidy Minglishi (bronze).
Zambia was represented by 14 athletes from five sports disciplines; Mia Phiri (swimming), Bunty Howard (Equestrian), Simon Zulu (Judo), Nidy Mingilishi (athletics), Kennedy Luchembe (athletics) and the hockey U18 team who came out fourth.
Centre Director Dr. Fredrick Chitangala, is happy to welcome the heroes back home from this prestigious event. He further added that the Centre will continue providing sporting opportunities to athletes, coaches and sports administrators to achieve maximum performance. He expressed gratitude to partners such as the Hockey Dreams Foundation and Coen Teulings, Chairman of the Merifin Capital in Belgium who have been crucial to supporting the development of sport at the Centre and in Zambia at large.
The team will arrive in Zambia at about 14:30 hours.
