Teulings taekwondo coordinator eager for grand finale
Teulings taekwondo coordinator Patson Ngoma, says players are on a mission to catch up with training as they prepare for the grand finale in December.
The Teulings Youth Sport Challenge grand finale is set for December and taekwondo is part of the sports discipline in the youthful competition.
Ngoma, says the Covid-19 affected a number of players whom he says were not training when the OYDC had suspended all its activities following the outbreak of the corona virus in the country.
He adds that the players are eager to showcase taekwondo tactics and skills when the grand finale will be hosted stating that the zeal from those who come to the OYDC for training is motivating.
Meanwhile, OYDC also hosted netball, hockey and beach volleyball games which are part of the Teulings Youth Sports Challenge. The athletes were competing at different times with strict adherence to health guidelines.
And OYDC programmes sport officer Mellisa Majonga, has disclosed that numbers of athletes coming for competitions is gradually increasing each weekend adding that many teams are being part of the Teulings Youth Sports Challenge.
“The Teulings remains the only grassroots league in almost all these sports and community clubs want to be associated in the games. This is great for sports development as you are able to tap talent from a variety of athletes. Numbers keep increasing every single weekend when we have competition” she said.
