“WE SHALL DO BETTER IN THE 4X400M FINAL” SAYS LUCHEMBE

Zambia’s member of the 4x400m relay team Kennedy Luchembe says Saturday’s final will be something to look out for as the team will aim for a medal.

Luchembe says the 4x400m race the team had Friday morning was a bit tricky with good contenders saying the team managed to secure qualification for the final.

He says it’s not easy making a debut at the Olympics and recording such a time but hopes to do better in the final.

Meanwhile, assistant coach Kezzias Nyendwa says he is happy that the 4x400m relay team has made it to the final and will work on beating their time and hopefully bag another medal for Zambia.

He indicated that what could have led to the team emerging number five was not getting used to a huge crowd in the stadium being their first time at the Olympics.

Zambia’s 4x400m relay team will be back in action on Saturday in the final at 21:00 CAT.

The team qualified for the final 4x400m relay after clocking 3.00.08 recording the second fastest time.
