YOUNG HOCKEY PLAYER WANTS TEAM TO EMERGE VICTORIOUS

Esasu Kaira a young hockey player at the OYDC Zambia who plays for Springfields Hockey Club has disclosed that his team is likely to emerge winners of the Teulings Youth Sports Challenge.

The Teulings Youth Sports Challenge at the OYDC Zambia has several sports disciplines and engages athletes below the age of 17 competing every weekend with those showcasing good skills getting selected to national teams.

Kaira disclosed that it is amazing that the team he belongs to continues to outclass opponents.

Meanwhile, Teulings Hockey coordinator Floyd Chomba says the team Springfields has a better chance of winning this year’s Teulings Youth Sports Challenge.

Athletes will be rewarded with trophies and medals when the grand finale is held at OYDC Zambia at the end of the year.

The Teulings Youth Sports Challenge has been running at OYDC Zambia since 2011 and is sponsored by Coen Teulings Chairman of Merifin Capital in Belgium.

Since its inception, the youthful competition has seen several athletes getting selected to junior and senior national teams.

Four sports disciplines basketball, hockey, taekwondo and beach volleyball were hosted on 16 September 2023.
