ZAMBIA ATHLETICS (ZA) PRESIDENT MAJOR BERNARD BWALYA VISITS OYDC ZAMBIA TO STRENGTHEN DEVELOPMENT TIES

Newly elected Zambia Athletics (ZA) President, Major Bernard Bwalya, paid a courtesy visit to OYDC Zambia Sports Development Centre to explore potential areas of collaboration aimed at revitalizing athletics in Zambia. The meeting focused on creating a strong partnership to breathe new life into the track and field facilities and re-establish OYDC Zambia as a premier destination for athletics development in the country.

During the visit, OYDC Zambia Acting CEO Mr. Benjamin Tembo welcomed the engagement, expressing his appreciation for the new president’s proactive approach.

He highlighted OYDC’s ongoing role as a center of excellence and a critical hub for nurturing young sporting talent and expressed the urgent need for renovating the athletics field.

President Bwalya reaffirmed the significance of the OYDC facilities in the broader vision for athletics in Zambia. He stressed that the centre has great potential to contribute meaningfully to the growth of the sport nationwide.

Accompanied by members of his executive team, Major Bwalya toured the track and field facilities, assessing the status and need for enhancement and development. The visit marked a promising step toward strengthening cooperation between Zambia Athletics and OYDC Zambia in advancing the future of athletics across the country.
