ZAMBIA HOCKEY ASSOCIATION ELATED WITH THE TRAINING OF COACHES
Zambia Hockey Association is elated with the training of its coaches who are currently attending an FIH Olympic Solidarity programme level 2 National coaching course.
“This is a great development for us as an association we can only expand the sport when we have the capacity building and more coaches who are trained and qualified for the betterment of our athletes in future. The course has attracted 19 participants from Lusaka and Copperbelt” he says.
The course is taking place at OYDC Zambia – Sports Development Centre and will run from 2-12 March 2023.
Zambia Hockey Association general secretary Elvis Bwalya says the course will help the association adding that it will provide coaches with the necessary knowledge to help build athletes as they prepare for various competitions.
He has disclosed that the course is being conducted by FIH Academy Educator Maggid Abu-Talib who is a former Egyptian national coach and currently working in Qatar as a technical expert at the Olympic committee and Qatar Hockey Federation.
Bwalya further disclosed that the course has been made possible by the National Olympic Committee of Zambia (NOCZ) through the Olympic Solidarity.
The 19 coaches in attendance were selected from Lusaka and Copperbelt.
