Gosiewski an inspirational to many judokas in Zambia
Judokas from communities surrounding the Olympic Youth Development Centre (OYDC) and those based at the sports facility were left amused when Jan Gosiewski, from the Great Britain, Bath University tutored them during his “judo” volunteer work at the OYDC.
OYDC in its effort to contribute to developing to high performance sport has continued to maximizing on the partnership with the Wallace Group of students by engaging qualified personnel (staff and students) from the UK Universities.
Gosiewski, is one of the recent international judo competitor and level 2 coach who interacted with athletes who train from OYDC by teaching them different judo skills which were extended to nearby communities.
When asked how his experience was in Zambia and at OYDC he expressed happiness to note that the athletes he mingled with were eager to learn judo skills stating that it has always been his passion to associate with children who have the zeal to take up judo as their favourite sport.
One of the pupils from Chipata Open Community School Martin, appreciated the skills acquired through the sessions Gosiewski, conducted at his school and OYDC.
Gosiewski, is famously known for having participated in the 2014 commonwealth Games held in Glasgow.
Children between the ages of 6 to 16 years who thronged the OYDC found the judo sessions beneficial for their personal development and physical fitness.
