MUZALA SAMUKONGA WINS SILVER MEDAL AT AFRICAN GAMES
2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games 400m gold medalist Muzala Samukonga has minted silver medal in the men’s 400m final race at the African Games.
Samukonga clocked 45.37s to secure silver for Zambia. Nigeria’s Okezie Anthony won gold with the time of 45.06s while Diouf Tidiane of Senegal got bronze after clocking 45.49s.
Meanwhile, the two Zambian female sprinters Rhoda NJOBVU and Quincy MALEKANI have missed out on banging medals in the women’s 400m final race at the ongoing 2023 African Games in Accra Ghana.
Njobvu recorded the time of 51.97s to come out fourth while Malekani clocked the time of 51.98 to come out fifth.
Despite the duo not minting medals they did put up a good race in their final event.
Zambia now has five medals at the 2023 African Games (1) gold in judo through Steve Mung’andu, (1) silver in athletics through Muzala Samukonga, (2) bronze in swimming through Mia Phiri, and (1) bronze in judo through Simon Zulu.
