ZAMBIAN SWIMMER SHAMAMBO TO FOCUS ON TRAINING AFTER GETTING ELIMINATED FROM PARIS OLYMPIC GAMES

Zambian swimmer Damien Shamambo made his Olympic debut at the ongoing Paris 2024 Olympic Games where he clocked 24.09s in the Men’s 50m freestyle heat 5.

Shamambo says after getting eliminated his next focus will now be training stating that participating at the Olympic Games was his dream come true.

He adds that he is looking forward to many more similar competitions hence his next major focus will be training.

“It was a good race nonetheless, I just have to go back and work on things and improve different things and move from there. [I am looking forward to training], returning to the routine and returning better for the next one. This was just a stepping stone in the right direction and I feel like I did a decent enough job” he said.

Shamambo, who was making his debut on the Olympic stage, has been ranked 48th out of 74 competitors, with the 16 fastest times qualifying for the semifinals.
