OYDC Ippon Finishes Third at Japanese Judo Cup.

OYDC Ippon produced a strong performance at the Japanese Judo Cup hosted at OYDC Zambia sports development centre, finishing third overall after an impressive medal haul.

The OYDC athletes collected seven gold, three silver and five bronze medals, giving the team a total of 15 medals and helping consolidate its place among the top performers at the competition.

The performance was a reflection of the growing strength of judo development at OYDC, with young athletes demonstrating skill, determination and competitive experience across the different weight categories.

A key contributor to this development has been the Teulings Youth Sports Challenge, which has provided young athletes with valuable opportunities to compete, gain experience and develop their sporting abilities.

Through regular competition and exposure, the challenge has helped nurture emerging talent and prepare young athletes for bigger competitions such as the Japanese Judo Cup. The experience gained through these platforms has contributed to athletes building confidence, improving their technical abilities and developing the competitive mindset required to win medals.
