OYDC Zambia Welcomes 17 Volunteers from Germany for the 2026/2027 ASC Göttingen International Volunteer Service.

OYDC Zambia – Sports Development Centre is delighted to welcome another group of 17 volunteers from Germany to Zambia.

The volunteers were officially welcomed by OYDC Zambia Programs Manager, Mwange Kampamba, who expressed the Centre’s appreciation for their willingness to join the centre and be able to contribute to various programmes and community initiatives during their stay in Zambia.

As part of their welcome programme, the volunteers took part in an Olympic Values Education Programme (OVEP) session conducted by OYDC Zambia’s Non-Sports Officer, Richard Mulenga. The session provided an opportunity to introduce the volunteers to the values of Olympism and highlight the role of sport in promoting friendship, respect and excellence.

The volunteers also received an orientation from Likemore Mahunje, who emphasised the importance of the assignments that lie ahead of them. He encouraged the volunteers to approach their responsibilities with commitment, teamwork and a positive attitude while making meaningful contributions to the communities they will serve.

Of the 17 volunteers, eight will be based at OYDC Zambia, while the other *nine will be stationed in Livingstone and other parts of Lusaka where they will contribute to various activities and community initiatives.

The volunteers are being supervised by Neria Muntemba, ASC Project Manager in Zambia, who will coordinate and support their activities throughout their stay.

OYDC Zambia warmly welcomes its friends from Germany and wishes them a fruitful, enjoyable and memorable stay in Zambia as they engage with local communities, learn from one another and contribute to various development initiatives.
